Trump threatens to send thousands of troops to Turkey or impose financial sanctions for syria invasion
U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a number of options to deal with the current crisis after Turkey launched the "Spring of Peace" military operation in northern Syria to eliminate the Kurds.
"We have one of three options to respond to Turkey: send thousands of troops and win militarily, or hit Turkey financially hard and punish it, or broker a deal between Turkey and the Kurds," Trump said in a tweet on his social networking account.
"The United States has defeated ISIS in Syria by 100%," he said, noting that Washington no longer has any troops in the region under attack from Turkey.
He noted that Turkey is now attacking the Kurds in Syria, where they have been fighting each other for 200 years.
This followed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's announcement of the start of the "Spring of Peace" military operation on Syrian territory.
