The U.S. House of Representatives passed a "historic" vote to remove Trump.
The US House of Representatives has also passed legislation allowing public hearings to be held as part of investigations into the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Trump called the start of his impeachment proceedings "the biggest witch hunt" in U.S. history, after the House vote.
"The accountability and impeachment trick of the House is doing a great part in hurting the U.S. stock market, but Democrats don't care," Trump said.
"The Democrats have done nothing but blatantly and unacceptablely violate the Regulations and Regulations of the House of Representatives by moving forward with impeachment proceedings," the White House said, commenting on the House resolution. According to Reuters
