Pompeo: U.S. Supports Saudi Arabia's Right to Defend Itself
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States stands with Saudi Arabia, supports its right to defend itself, and that the iranian regime's behavior will not be tolerated.
Pompeo's remarks came after his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday at the Peace Palace in Jeddah.
During the meeting, the U.S. secretary of state stressed his country's condemnation of the sabotage attacks on Saudi Aramco's infrastructure in Baqiq and Khreis, for which Iran is responsible, the Official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
Pompeo expressed U.S. support for Saudi Arabia's steps to invite international experts to investigate the source of the attack.
The Secretary of State expressed Washington's support for Saudi security and stability in the face of these criminal acts, expressing appreciation for the wisdom of the Saudi leadership and its concern for the security and stability of the region.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said during the meeting that these sabotage attacks were aimed at undermining the region's security and damaging global energy supplies and the global economy.
